Pinwheel Puzzle

Sometimes I wish I had a sewing room, BUT in a one bedroom apartment that's nearly impossible. In some pictures you may notice my ironing board lives in the middle of my living room and all of my projects are smack dab in the middle of my entry/living room/dining room floor. This makes it easy to remember that I need to finish up since I walk around it constantly.

I know the picture is not great. This is the quilt I'm working on right now...it looks like a giant pinwheel puzzle as I move blocks around. This is actually for my bedroom. I need a new quilt for my bed because I bought a red chair and am now decorating around a RED chair...crazy I know. I figure I only need a million more blocks to make it big enough. Sorry this is dripping with sarcasm :P

Mother's Day Mayhem

One thing I usually am is organized, here is the mayhem that ensued Mother's Day morning:

The puree for the strawberry cake....not looking so good.

My sewing machine and I had a quarrel, we broke up Saturday night when I wanted to finish this table topper as a gift for my sister. Thankfully we made up Sunday morning and I quilted like a maniac to finish it.......and bind it. Yup, my ironing board is set up in my living room/sewing room. I thought the mayhem was going to win this time....BUT 10 minutes before I was due at my mother's the cake was done and I put the last stitch in the table topper.

What a GREAT day!!!

A Pretty Pair

Weeks ago while browsing through other quilting blogs I saw this qenius idea. Using these gloves that you can find in Home Depot or other such stores. Well the verdict was that the gloves were not very attractive, but they have little grippers on the fingers and palms to help hold the quilt while quilting. Browsing through gardening stuff I found a pretty pair! These gloves, though for gardening, also have those sticky little grippers that help you hold the quilt. I LOVE them!
