Movin' on Up

Back when I first started blogging about my sewing adventures, I had made a pretty big purchase. I started sewing on my mother's Husqvarna Viking. If you know this machine you know that finding a foot to free motion quilt with is not easy. Instead of continuing the hunt I treated myself to this machine:
The Janome Memory Craft 6500p

I bought this lovely machine back in February. Upgrading from a machine that was over 20 years old was exciting and this machine worked well until....some sort of bend occurred and needles starting slamming into the plate, breaking in half and flying into the air. I've started wearing protective eye gear. So I figured somethings wrong here...duh! I found a little shop to repair and of course the salesman jumped on the fact that I quilt and don't own a more sophisticated machine. He let me try out the Pfaff Quilt Expression 4.0 with IDT (though I think this is standard on just about all their machines now). Then he slyly mentioned I could trade up. I dreamed about the Pfaff machine all Thursday night and then on Friday I.....
Came home with a new machine. The beautiful thing about this machine is it just glides as you free motion quilt. It has hundreds of embroidery stitches. The IDT feature is amazing. I have to say the shop I bought it from offers free classes with each purchase and with this machine there are 4 classes I can take that will teach the ins and outs of using The Pfaff Quilt Expression. I love it already!
